Magpie Times: Country Fair will be released on September 17, 2024. I have to say, I think this is the best one so far. We have an article on Gee's Bend quilts, a style of vibrant, improvisational quilting created by enslaved people from Alabama. For this article, 27 artists created their own version of a Gee's Bend design, using whatever colors and techniques they wished.
In this issue, we also have Reclaim the Void, an ambitious fiber arts project honoring the Australian Aboriginal peoples. Plus articles on sheep, goats, farm shops, carousels, twining rugs with felted sweaters, needle felting, recipes, games, and 18 free patterns!
Here's a sneak peek at the magazine: https://www.flipsnack.com/C5ACFC66AED/country-fair-digital-intro/full-view.html
Magpie Times: Country Fair is available in print for $21.00, and in our gorgeous digital version for 40% off the print price ($12.60), plus, no postage! With the flipbook (digital) version, you can print up some or all of the magazine, which is nice if you like to have the article on hand while you're making the project, or you just want to print up the free patterns.
I have upgraded my website to allow people to order the digital flipbook directly from the website, so no need to set up an account anywhere else. When you order Magpie Times: Country Fair digital you receive a link immediately to your email (don't even have to wait for it to be shipped to you).
And by the way, did you know all my books and magazines are available as flipbooks, too, for 50% off the print price? Click these links to see how they look: Joy of Hooking With Yarn!, Rug Hooker's Guide to the YARNIVERSE!, T-Shirt Treasures, Breaking the Boundaries, and Save that Rug! Of course, the other issues of Magpie Times are also available as flipbooks, check out Magpie Times: Historic Gardens and Magpie Times: Midsummer Magic.
In other news, I'll be teaching a Beginning Rug Hooking class at the Pacific NW Fiber Expo in Port Angeles, WA on October 5. Click here to sign up!
Happy Hooking Everyone!
