Farm 2 Fiber Class Kit and Fee
Farm 2 Fiber Class Kit and Fee
Note: this is for a class at the Wahkiakum Farm 2 Fiber Festival 2023, Sept. 9 at 1:00 PM, Skamokawa, WA.
In this "All-In-One Beginning Rug Hooking Class," students will learn how to hook with yarn, T-shirt strips, and wool fabric strips, so they will be able to go home to their stash and say, "Yup, I can hook with that!" The materials in the kit are mainly overdyed leftovers, there's just no limit to the fun things you can do with your leftovers! Rug hooking is so versatile, you can hook with so many materials, and everyone approaches the craft in their own way. At the class, we'll also cover all the basics: how to get your design on the backing, how much yarn or material it takes, how to hem rugs so they last for generations, how to clean and care for hooked rugs, and much more. The class fee includes the kit (pattern on burlap, yarn, T-shirt strips, wool fabric strips, written instructions, color photo and a rug hook). The main picture shown is the kit itself, the other pictures show different ways to hook hit-or-miss designs using the same color palette. Students should bring scissors and wear long pants.
