I uploaded a new article on the Learn More page on the Ancient Art of Waulking the Wool. If you ever hook with wool strips, you know the value of well-felted wool. Nowadays, we have machines to do the work, but hundreds of years ago, it had to be done by hand.

At our recent Shepherd's Extravaganza, we had a demonstration by Slighe nan Gàidheal, (www.slighe.org) a nonprofit educational society that teaches and promotes the Scottish Gaelic language and culture in the Pacific Northwest.

If you take a look at the PDF on the Learn More page, it includes two short videos, so you can see and hear the process. Even better, if possible, find a demonstration in person, but this article is the next best thing.
