The Folklife Festival Fiber Folk booth went off without a hitch. We had a loom set up where festival goers could try their hand at weaving (we ended up weaving about 10 feet of cloth), watch the spinners and ask questions, make a yarn doll, and hook on a rug. At this point, about 220 people have hooked on the Folklife rug!
The names of all the volunteers who worked on the rug will be sewn into the back. We plan to finish the rug, and it will be donated to Folklife for their November auction.
Stay tuned, and I'll post how much money the rug raised for Folklife!!
Our booth really was a success because of the many volunteers who came down to demonstrate and assist the festival goers. Thanks so much to all of you wonderful people! If you are interested in volunteering for next year's Folklife, e-mail me!
