Stained Glass Rug 27" round

Dear Judy:
The first piece I purchased from you was a little "tile" with a celtic knot on it and it isn't pretty as the lesson on that one was DO ALL MY OUTLINING FIRST-- but I finished it and bound it and it sits in my living room as a reminder of a wonderful shift in ability to finish the things I start. My whole life I have been looking for a craft. My mother tried me on knitting (too much math). Then she tried sewing and I didn't have the patience for it or like it all that much... there was crocheting and everything else known to man... but always the projects were begun and not finished.
I purchased this rug in 2004 and I got a nice start on it and then big LIFE challenges hit me--some dealing with family and some with health. The rug went into the closet and remained there until I got it out this year and swallowed my pride and brought it to you, "the Master" for a little help. I finished it shortly thereafter and had a lovely life lesson as I looked forward to the binding part. It looked like a LONG way around and I secretly was dreading it-- in actuality, binding it was really a pleasure and a very zen kind of activity for me.
I am currently working on a Santa Dummy Board that I hope to gift to my mother-in-law for Christmas. My only sadness is that my own Mother is not here to see and share in my joy.
What I have noticed as I hook is that as I hit a snag or need to rip out and start over I meet myself and once again have the opportunity to watch myself in the mirror of my reaction. More and more as this happens I am using it as the vehicle to re-frame my response and my self-talk. Hooking has been a wonderful and gentle teacher.
Judy, thank you for your part in bringing the gift of hooking into my life. I truly get more excited about it each day. It has been a wonderful place of both escape and creativity... and I am just getting started. I truly am a HOOKER and PROUD TO BE ONE!
Blessings to you and all who share a passion for hooking.
