This rug is yet another design that lends itself to using up all those leftovers, but with this one, I also used fabric strips (I even found a piece of the Taylor tartan in Scotland that I used!), following the traditional style of rug hooking. The method of mixing yarn and fabric strips goes back to the very origins of this craft. The bottom line with rug hooking: use what you've got!
Believe it or not, this pattern is exactly the same as my Diamonds & Squares pattern, except that I just filled in my blocks with solids instead of following a "basketweave" design.
