Stained Glass Rug 27" round
Designed and hooked by Judy Taylor
I got to thinking of this design as I visited many European churches while vacationing this summer. I had some fun with dyeing the yarn for this rug, attempting to achieve some of the translucence and brightness to the colors of stained glass. I used Ewenique, which is my rug hooking yarn, because it contains 35% adult mohair, which is lustrous and really takes up color. Then the colors are all set off with the jet-black background. There is no shading, although the variegation in the yarn helped to make it seem more like glass to me.
