Coneflower Trivets 7.5"x9.5"
Marie Kelly, Thunder Bay, Ontario
I purchased the coneflower trivets from Mary Johnson of Designs in Wool last fall when I was in Duluth, Minnesota for a primitive rughooking workshop. When I saw the design I immediately wanted to hook it for my sister-in-law Bev. She had asked me to hook her a trivet, and since she is an avid gardener, I knew she would appreciate the design. I decided to do each one in a #8 wide cut, and used different color selections for the coneflower.
I chose the yellow trivet for Bev who tells me she is proudly using it on her computer desk for her tea in the evenings when answering her e-mails or working on her computer.
The trivet with the pinks I kept for myself as it would serve to remind me of the pleasant time I had at the workshop.
I found it very interesting to see the same design done in different color values. I think that is why I love rug hooking so much, the creative juices flow, and you feel such self expression with the art.
