"When I first became hooked on rug hooking, I gave away nearly everything I made as gifts to relatives. This wall hanging was the first item I made especially for me. The design was inspired by my love of the Sonoran desert near Tucson, where my parents live and my family and I frequently vistit. We enjoy hiking in the desert, and have hiked past Native American petroglyphs or pictographs, etched in rock like the ones in my wall hanging. I copied the designs from photos I've taken and a book of Native American petroglyphs. Of course, since I keep Jacob sheep, the family of bighorn sheep had to take center stage!"
